Eleanor is a enchanting three-legged senior who deserves a retirement of plush beds and endless treats. She was an outdoor cat her entire life until the summer of 2023 when she was attacked by another animal (possibly raccoon or fox). She managed to escape but limped away with a dislocated and broken leg. It would be over a year before a Project MEOW volunteer was able to get Eleanor help for her wounds. Unaddressed, her injuries had only gotten worse and the vet decided it would be best to remove her leg.
As a tripod living in a home, Eleanor is doing great. She still gets around and jumps up on the couch. She loves treats and giving deep soulful purrs for an ear scratch or pets. Despite all that she has gone through, Eleanor is a sweet and gentle cat who may make a great companion to someone who will give her a chance.
Eleanor Delano Roosevelt is around 14 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. She is curious, gentle, independent, quiet, and smart.
Eleanor qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors Foster Program. If you are 65+ and interested in Eleanor, email us for more details!
**Eleanor's biggest fan has sponsored her adoption which means that there is no fee to adopt this adorable cutie!

***Right now, all adoption fees are 50% off!!***
Adoption Fees (without the 50% off discount):
Cats under 1 year old: $150 + 8% sales tax = $162
Cats aged 1-10 years old: $100 + 8% sales tax = $108
Two kittens under 1 year old: $225 + 8% sales tax = $243
Senior Cats (10+ years old): $75 + 8% sales tax = $81
* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
