My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sammie, the epitome of youthful exuberance and friendly demeanor. His sweetness is as infectious as his curiosty is endearing. Gentle yet energetic, Sammie`s playfulness is sure to brighten up your day. He weighs 27 pounds and his happy, jumpy nature is a sight to behold. His love for cuddles is only surpassed by his love for his fellow canine and feline friends. Sammie`s cooperative spirit makes him easy to handle and a joy to be around. His confidence and energy make every day an adventure. But what makes Sammie truly special is his ability to love unconditionally. Sammie is leash trained and easy to handle. He responds well to treats, making him easy to train. He already knows the sit command. Adopt Sammie, and let his love and energy fill your home with joy and happiness. He promises to be the perfect companion. (tw 11/12/2024)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
