Sierra's adoption donation is $550 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Sierra requires a secure, physically fenced yard and a companion dog of similar size/energy.
Sierra came into rescue from a commercial breeder, AKA puppy mill, she didn't have the easiest start to life as she was limping and they could not sell her. Sierra required a hip surgery due to a traumatic injury to her hip and then required knee surgery due to poor breeding. She has recovered from both surgeries like a champ and is really discovering what it's like to be a loved and cherished member of the family. Sierra is like most mill dogs and is shy at first, she needs a little time to warm up but once comfortable she loves cuddles and pets. Sierra is still learning to walk on a leash but she loves to be around and play with other dogs. Now that she is fully recovered from all her surgeries she LOVES to run around the backyard! Sierra does require a home with a secure, physically fenced yard. She also loves to hoard toys and take naps on the couch. She will benefit from a companion dog of similar energy to help her continue her progress.
