Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Dixie, our sweet little Southern Belle who just arrived at Saving Grace! This gentle girl is still adjusting to her new surroundings, and we are excited to see her personality blossom in her foster home. Dixie is shy and can be quite timid, especially around new people, but she has shown a special bond with her foster mom, suggesting she might have had a female owner in the past.
While she's still learning the ropes of being a pet, Dixie enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to snuggle on the couch with her canine foster sibling. Playtime and toys are new concepts for her, so she may need a little encouragement to explore and have fun. Dixie is also working on her potty training and is getting used to being on a leash, but patience will be key as she learns to trust and feel safe in her environment.
In the yard, Dixie tends to stay close to the door or lie down, taking everything in quietly. Though she may seem nervous, she's making slow but steady progress with each day. She feels safe in her crate and settles in comfortably at night or when her foster family is away. Once she's snuggled under a blanket on the couch, she's content to stay there as long as you let her.
Dixie will thrive in a calm, patient home that can give her the time and gentle encouragement she needs to come out of her shell. If you're looking for a quiet companion to nurture and help gain confidence, come meet Dixie and see if she's the perfect fit for your family!

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
