Snickerdoodle, aka 'Doodle", was found as a stray shortly after Helene hit our area. He was skinny, scared and very hungry. A search for his possible owner yielded no positive results and we did not detect a microchip.
It was easy to tell that Doodle had been someone's dog as he displayed being house trained and also responded to commands of "sit" and "shake". He also seemed to be crate trained. It took Doodle about two days to become comfortable in his new surroundings and once he did, he proved to us exactly how friendly he was. He's played very well with other dogs and simply loves all of the attention that he received from our staff. He does have a lot of energy and would do best in a home that provided him with lots of room to run and play. With continued training, he will make an excellent family companion.
Doodle has now been neutered, fully vaccinated and de-wormed. He's also been started on his monthly flea/tick and heat worm preventatives, even testing negative for heartworms. While he has shown house training experience, Doodle may need a refresher course once in a new home.
