My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 10/25/2023) Hope is heartworm positive, but don't let that stop you from adopting. Our rescue will pay for the treatment & will be adoptable within 1 hour of Wake Forest, NC during the treatment period.

Hope is a huge fan of kids (the more, the merrier!). One thing’s for sure, Hope is a total "man's dog" . She’s totally smitten with her foster daddy and and her 2-legged foster brothers and is happiest when they’re around. Whether it's playtime or just snuggling up on the couch, she’s all about her favorite people. She's super loyal, loving, and ready to be the most fun, tail-wagging addition to your family!

This spunky girl is full of energy and loves a good adventure! Hope would absolutely thrive in a home with a big yard where she can run, jump, and play to her heart's content, so we are definitely looking for a home with a fenced yard for Hope. She’d also love another dog buddy to hang out with, especially if they’re introduced properly. With that being said, Hope could be an only dog, she would just need a loving, sweet, active family to keep her playful energy satisfied. If Hope is in an only-dog home, we believe it best that Hope gets to attend doggie day care on a regularly basis or have doggie friends she can walk and play with regularly.

If you’re looking for a road trip buddy, look no further! Hope absolutely loves car rides – the minute the door opens, she’s ready to hop in and hit the road. Whether it’s a quick trip to the store or an all-day adventure, she’s always excited to be your co-pilot. With her ears flapping in the wind and her tail wagging with every turn, she’s the ultimate travel companion who’ll keep you company and make every ride a little more fun. Buckle up, because with Hope, every car ride is an adventure!

During the day, Hope is a bundle of excitement, especially when it's time to play! Hope is still figuring out all the fun to be had with all her new toys and loves bringing toys to her foster mom. It is the sweetest thing to see! She is now also learning about new games like tug-of-war and fetch. She’s getting better every day!

Hope is incredibly smart and a quick learner! With gentle redirection, she’s done really well staying focused and on track. With some consistent training, she’s bound to continue improving and becoming an even more well-behaved and attentive companion. This girl’s got so much potential, and with the right guidance, she’ll only continue to amaze!

She gets a quick potty break every 3-4 hours when her family is home, and she is well-behaved and can hang out in her crate overnight and while her family is at work, with no problem at all. When it’s time for bed, she either sleeps in her crate or shares a cozy room with her fur sibling; Hope especially loves curling up and chilling out with her two foster dogs.

Hope is a happy, go-lucky pup who loves to be around her family. Hope is sweet, playful, and adaptable – she’s ready to be your best friend!  She is just looking for her #1 family to find her.

As part of Hope’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Hope, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
