Herbert was found tied up near the dog park at Herbert Von King park in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. A good samitiran noticed him and was alerting dog owners in the area. Thankfully, another person was at the park stopped by and helped out. He took Herbert in. Herbert had a noticable physical ailment. The vet said his left jaw was swollen due to trauma that may have been caused by biting something hot or a live wire. This caused his tongue, gums, cheek, and salivary glands to all fused together. He had the operation to successfully release some parts of his tongue and allow him some mobility on his jaw.
His foster, provide to helped pay for his medical procedures out of his own pocket and with the help of Team Herbert- a community of dog lovers that raised funds to help pay for the cost of his surgery.
About Herbert, he is estimated to be 3-4yrs old, 64lbs, neutered pitbull mix. He give you the funniest stares along with the the funniest spreads on the floor. This boy loves long walks, human interaction, and playing with other dogs. He loves belly rubs all day. He’s good with boundaries and knows basic commands such as sit, stay, paw, and off. He loves to be around his human all the tiime but isn’t needy.
Overall, a very good boy who will shadow you around, surprise you out of nowhere, and make your day, everyday!
