Meet Guerito! This adorably vocal young male kitty is a very unique and quirky soul who absolutely adores attention. Guerito loves being around people, which is really remarkable considering he spent all of his life as a stray until he was rescued by FFF! From the way he acts, you’d never know that Guerito was once roughing it on the streets; he was truly made for the comfy life of an indoor cat!
Guerito is a very independent young boy and he would prefer to be the only kitty in the home. However, he is used to sharing space with other cats and he could adjust to other household cats if given a slow and careful introduction. Guerito is quick to trust humans, but he takes a minute to adjust to other animals. He doesn’t have much experience with dogs as far as we know, but he would likely be able to adjust to a canine friend as long as he is given a slow and supervised introduction. Guerito also doesn’t have that much experience with kids, and we think that given his strong personality and sense of independence he would probably do better in a home with no kids or with older kids who understand cat behavior and respect his boundaries. Overall, Guerito is independent and does ok on his own, but he loves attention and he would thrive is a household with people who are home a lot to give him the love he craves and deserves!
Since he grew up as a stray, Guerito wasn't too interested in toys at first, he didn’t really understand what to do with them. But now, he really enjoys chirping bird toys, possibly because they remind him of his outdoor days. Guerito loves bird toys that chirp to catch his attention, especially when you toss one across the room. He will even jump to catch them! He's also intrigued by tunnels and loves waiting inside them until it's play time. If you’re looking to enhance playtime, Guerito absolutely loves catnip. Sprinkle some on a scratching post and he'll stay fixated and start rolling around. The first time his foster mom showed him catnip he immediately gravitated toward it. Now whenever he smells it, he comes running over!
Guerito is a very curious kitty. He loves to explore his environment and he serves as an excellent guard cat. He really enjoys being able to roam about while not being restricted to just one space. When he's not curiously exploring, he loves lounging around. Guerito loves being around people and he often forgoes the cat bed and instead chooses to sleep at the end of the bed at night. Guerito is a very affectionate kitty who adores being pet! According to his foster mom she will miss he sweet personality and the time they get to spend together at the end of the day. Guerito always wants to be where you are and he is usually found lounging nearby, keeping an eye on things.
