SPECIAL NEEDS: Manx. I just don't know where to start when it comes to Rufina. I have fostered over 100 kittens in my four years with MPR, all of them wonderful but Rufina is the absolute best! She is just so extra special. I would keep her in a heartbeat if I could and she will break my heart when she goes. She deserves the best. She is super smart, so cute, sweet and funny. She is a lover and always wants to be with her people. She is so happy to just purr in your lap or play a crazy game of And she is honestly scared of nothing. She is the epitome of an extrovert and may be an adventure cat. She loves my 3 big cat friendly dogs and would warm up to my 4 cats if they would let her. She has not been around kids but my guess is that she would be just fine.
Now the special needs part- she has no tail at all. Yes, it makes her super cute but she has had some issues because of it and has seen the vet. She has had a mild prolapse but as she has grown it has gotten so much better! She may need a special diet and Miralax sprinkled into her wet food. Right now she has no problems when using the litter box. She may need more check ups and maintenance than a regular kitten but she is SO very worth it!! We can discuss her needs further with you but again this kitty is a one in a million!
Meet Rufina and her her friend, Yancey, at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, during our weekly adoption event from 12-4pm. Get $50 off the adoption fee of a pair of kittens (under 1 year of age). All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
