Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This guy is the best. Huckleberry loves attention, playing with dogs and going for walks. He can be a little shy at first and will do well in a household where he will receive plenty of exercise and attention. Huckleberry weighs around 51 lbs. He is looking forward to meeting potential doggie siblings and hopes to meet you soon. Give us a call if Huckleberry sounds like your match, 928-634-7387.

More about this shelter
Our Mission
The Verde Valley Humane Society exists to humanely care for unwanted, lost and abused animals; and to promote animal adoptions and welfare through its policies and presence in the community.
Our Story
In 1982, a group of animal lovers formed the Verde Valley Humane Society. However, it wasn’t until March 31, 1986, that ground was broken for the first shelter. In the 20 years that followed, the community grew tremendously. It wasn’t until late 2009 that ground was broken for Phase 1 of construction for a new facility. We moved into our current structure in March 2010, and hosted the official ribbon cutting ceremony on April 16, 2010.
VVHS has grown into a vibrant animal shelter with a dedicated staff at the heart of operations. We have amazing support and assistance from a passionate Board of Directors and a tireless army of volunteers. Each of us is honored to better the lives of the cats and dogs who depend on us each day. It’s our people who allow the Verde Valley Humane Society to thrive and serve the beautiful animals that find their way to us.
Verde Valley Humane Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. 100% of your donations go directly to VVHS EIN# 74-2400312.
