RESCUE STORY - My rescue story is all too common, I was abandoned in a park near Mexico City for unknown reasons. Luckily, I was found unharmed and healthy! While not much is known about my past, I’m hopeful that my future is looking bright! I was rescued by kind strangers and am currently living at a shelter until I find a family of my very own!
TEMPERAMENT - My rescuer says that I am a playful, sweet, and intelligent pup! I love spending time with people and dogs of all kinds. I enjoy eating and sleeping with my doggy pals at the shelter, and, like the good girl I am, am very patient when waiting for my turn to eat!
ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High - Being a younger pup, I have lots of energy to run and play (video) and would do well with an active adopter. When it’s time to wind down, I like to find a spot in the sun to relax. I adore humans and can’t wait for ALL the pets and cuddles in my forever home, will that be with you?!
GETS ALONG WITH:
- Kids – Unknown - I haven’t spent much time around kiddos just yet!
- Dogs – Absolutely! I get along and play well with dogs! Check out these videos of me playing with my pals at the shelter: Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4
- Cats – Unknown - I do not have any known experience around cats.
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
- Leash skills – Work in progress. While I do pretty well on a leash, I can be a little distracted when out and about (check out this video)! I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!
- House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)
HEALTH NOTES:
- I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
- I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
- NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
- My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
