Hello everyone! My name is Nooshmak. I’m a sweet and resilient girl who has had to overcome a tough start to life. I lived on the streets with a human who I thought if I loved enough, they would eventually love me back. Unfortunately I was kept on a short leash and I must have been doing something wrong all the time because my human would constantly beat me.
Luckily one day, angels in the form of kind humans saw me and agreed to pay my homeless human to rescue me. At first I was uncertain about these new people.. I did not know if they would be the same of my previous human. In time, I came to realize that they really did care and that they wanted to make sure I was healthy with no injuries, which I am!
I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but I quickly warm up and show my playful and silly nature with some patience and kindness. I do enjoy quiet moments to rest and I’m more than happy to just be by your side, soaking up the comfort of a safe and loving home.
I get along well with other dogs, even cats as you can see in my videos and would thrive in a calm and understanding environment, where I can feel secure. I would love to be a part of a family that understands my past and is willing to give me the time and patience I need to fully blossom.I am currently staying at a foster home that is exactly that and it feels SO GOOD. I am a friendly girl and deserve an amazing life after what I went through, I hope it's with you!

Fears: I had fears of humans before due to my experience in life but I have felt like I can really be the lovely dog I am at heart after being rescued!
Training: I haven't had much training but I am a quick learner and I am gaining a lot more trust in humans!
Leash skills: Some, I was being kept on a leash before I was recued.
House trained: Yes, I am currently staying at a foster home teaching me!

I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
My adoption fee is 800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes transportation to Canada, if accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
