Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Liesha and her siblings were surrendered to Riverside Shelter by their owners. We rescued all three on November 12th to become Frosted Faces. Her feline sister Merry has been adopted into a loving home, but very sadly, her canine brother Happy has since passed away.
Liesha is 16 years old, weighs 14.5 lbs., and is just the sweetest girl. She went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we learned a lot about what she is like in a home. (Hint: she's a doll!)
Her Fling Mom shared:
"Liesha has had a lot of change in her little life recently. Despite all that, she is the sweetest little girl. It was our pleasure to have her as our Thanksgiving guest.
Liesha is a master cuddler. If you are looking for a poodle shaped weighted blanket, she's your girl. We would cuddle up on the couch together every night, and she just melts into your chest. It's so cute.
Liesha has bad eyes, but she can see a little if you keep the crusties clean! She has three eye drops, but she is an easy patient and lets you clean and medicate her eyes easily.
I thought she might have pretty bad canine dementia when I first brought her home because she paced SO MUCH. But after she settled in, she was much more comfortable and did much less pacing. I do think she maybe has the early stages of dementia, but she still interacts with you, seeks you out, finds her favorite bed, finds her way around the house and yard, etc. She doesn't get lost in corners or bark in distress like a lot of CCD dogs do.
I think Liesha was well potty-trained at one point and seems to know she's supposed to go outside - she potties almost as soon as her paws hit grass or dirt. But, she doesn't know how to communicate her needs. We got better at reading her signals during the day and diapered her overnight and when we were not home.
Liesha lived with two dogs and two cats and was great with everyone. She didn't even mind in when our senior dog snarked at her, or one of our cats hissed at her.
Overall, Liesha is a quiet and cuddly companion and would love a family that can be patient with her 16 year old self and enjoys snuggling on the couch."
To meet beautiful Liesha, please stop by between 10 AM and 3 PM any day of the week. We look forward to your visit!
