My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there. I’m Birdie, a petite 20#, 3 year old gal, Shiba Inu/Mini Australian Shepherd mix who is truly a Looker! With my color mix of red, golden, orange, chestnut, cream and a black stripe down my tail, I am truly a Whimsical Looking Gal, as my name says.

My sister, Callie, and I lived a love filled life with mom. Unfortunately, due to her progressive illness she could no longer provide appropriate care or exercise. A friend attempted to help, but after long hours of crating, it was decided our best future would be found with the help of Molly’s Place Rescue.

Birdie is a fun-loving name depicting the character of “ready for anything”, an “Up Beat Personality” and a “Zest for Life”. I’m all that and more! Just look at my sly grin, it says it all.

Already crate trained, I have graduated to “Free Roaming” in a home, unsupervised with no issues. Leash walking perfection, come when called and know how to sack it in for some TV time are a few of my attributes. Mom was a home body so getting out/about for joy rides would be exciting for sure! Bring it on…. I AM GAME!

I am outgoing, GREAT with other dogs, gentle with children and adults, ALL AGES (Seniors are SUPER), with these, I do excel! BUT after 3 years living with my sister, I’ve decided she is a JERK! Had enough, totally fed up, or call it Sibling rivalry, it’s a mutual agreement, we need SEPERATE “Furever Homes”! Another dog is no issue, it’s just Callie… REALLY! “Sayanora Sister!”

Mom is praying for both sis and I to get a new home by Christmas. That would be her gift from God!Please help me give mom her Gift, a new home by Christmas. This Birdie is not flying south for the winter, but ready to fly into your life!
