My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey everyone, I’m Callie, a Shiba Inu/Mini Australian Shepherd Mix, 3 years old weighing 30#.  My sister, Birdie, and I were given up by our mom due to her progressive illness and inability to provide appropriate care or exercise. A friend attempted to help, but after long hours of crating, it was decided our best future would be found with the help of Molly’s Place Rescue.

Callie is Greek in origin meaning Beautiful/Lovely. I am just that, my soft black coat with white patches and tan highlights, tipped ears and curly tail, traits of my breed. Having lived with mom my entire life, I was loved, well cared for, but experiences limited away from our home. Said to be “pretty” well behaved, mom was a softy so “Tweaking” may be in order with basic commands, car rides and such.

My personality is outgoing. GREAT with other dogs, gentle with children and adults, ALL AGES (Seniors are SUPER), with these, I do excel! BUT…… personally I feel my sister is a JERK! Sibling rivalry, litter mate syndrome, whatever the reason, it is best to find a home away from “sis”. Another dog is no issue, it’s just my sister who is the issue… REALLY! “Sayanora sister!”

Already crate trained, I have graduated to “Free Roaming” in a home, unsupervised with no issues. Leash walking perfection, coming when called and knowing how to sack it in for some TV time are a few of my attributes. Mom was a home body so getting out/about for joy rides would be exciting for sure! Bring it on….

Mom prays daily for new “Furever Homes” to be found for sis and I. Hopes are it will come before Christmas as a gift to her. Please consider myself or Birdie (NOT TOGETHER) as an addition to your loving family. You will not regret adopting either of us.  Snow should be falling soon, I’d surely make a super “Snuggle Bunny” for years to come. Callie is yearning for her new home, with you!
