Aloha! My name is Makue (Mah-ku-eh), and I come all the way from Kauai, where I was found as a stray and brought to the Kauai Humane Society. Some nice people helped get me transported to PupStarz Rescue in New York so I would have a better chance at finding a forever home.
I am 1 year 8 month old, 50 pounds wonderful Catahoula mix dog with the most beautiful coat and mesmerizing eyes. I love humans and will immediately try to sit on your lap and snuggle against you at first meeting. I get along well with my two foster dog sisters and follow their lead but I would love to be an only dog too, because I LOVE human attention and am a velcro dog. I want to be attached to my foster mom at all times and love to cuddle.
While I do get along with most dogs, I wouldn't be a good fit in a home with small dogs or cats. I'm not food aggressive at all, and am fine with humans touching me and brushing my teeth. I'm mostly housetrained, but I don't know how to "ask" to go outside yet, but if you have a pee pad inside, I will use it. I need work on my leash walking because I get too excited and will pull, but I'm getting better at it!
