*COURTESY POST*

Billie is a 1 year old Husky x German Shepherd who’s looking for her adventure crew to hit the trails with! Billie was rescued from a home where she was not being taken care of by one of our amazing community members. Unfortunately, she hasn’t befriended the resident cat so we agreed to post her and help find her a permanent place to land! Billie weighs 40 pounds and is absolutely gorgeous. For those who love the Husky breed, you won’t find a better companion than Billie! Come on down and meet this gorgeous girl today!

Billie is an affectionate and loyal gal who’s looking for her human best friend! She is super smart and adores her people, so prepare to have a lifelong shadow once you bring her home. Her favorite thing is rolling over onto her belly and lifting her leg like “hello, it’s time to shower me with all the attention I require, human!” Billie, like many huskies, is super smart and wants to show off for her people. Prepare for an adventure in training as you get to know each other. She loves her toys and would be thrilled to find an overflowing toy bin in her forever home. Billie loves to go on walks and adventures but is also happy to lounge on the couch when you’re ready for some relaxation time. Her foster mom has found that a great way to keep her stimulated is with interactive toys, which she excels at! Billie has a big personality, and she’s always such a happy and smiley girl. Billie is expressive in showing you how thankful she is, and you can easily feel it from her. With your support, she can thrive and become a wonderful companion. Her foster’s favorite thing about Billie is the way she’s always ready for a cozy snuggle. She has a sixth sense for when her people need some affection and she’s ready!

Billie wakes up around 6:30 AM on weekdays and goes right outside for potty. She comes inside for breakfast and then settles into her crate for a nap. While her foster mom is at work, she spends her days sleeping or amusing herself with her toys. She is good at hanging out quietly in her crate and isn't a nonstop energizer bunny. She gets her dinner around 6:30 PM when her foster mom returns home from the workday and then heads out on a long walk around the neighborhood. In the evening, she settles down and lounges for a few hours until she heads to bed with her foster mom.

Billie lives with another shepsky mix currently and they get along fabulously. She loves making new pals on her walks as well! She walks very well on a leash and loves getting out in nature. She is house trained. Billie would thrive in an environment where she can be shown lots of love and structure. She responds well to having commands and being trained. She loves to cuddle, so someone who could give her that would be ideal. She’s truly such a beautiful and great dog who has the potential to do very well in a small or big family. She has a lot of love to give and is waiting for her forever home.

Billie is an option for homes with prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 9.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
