TITAN - 5 years old, 120 pounds, house trained, good with kids, not sure about other dogs
Presa Canario's are a large breed and have a distinct personality. Please do your research before considering adoption.
It has taken some time and patience for Titan to get used to living the shelter life.
He can be nervous with new people to begin with and certainly that is exaggerated behind cage bars. But we are getting there and Titan is showing himself to be a friendly and sweet boy.
He doesn't like being handled by new people. He needs to get used to you before he will engage with you. But once you are there, you are there and in his inner circle.
Titan is said to be territorial as well.
He is a big big boy, XXL really, and had been with his previous family his whole life. His world flipped upside down when his family moved into military housing and his breed was restricted. Sooooo, here we are.
Titan does not trust just anybody. You have to earn that trust as mentioned above.
Titan is playful and loves to play with tug and squeaky toys.
He is pretty good about taking treats from your fingers and is just about perfect on the leash but if he spots a squirrel or other critter, all bets are off. LOL
What I actually saw was he took to a SIT and stared in the direction of the critter. After a few moments of him realizing he wasn't going to get to chase, we moved along easily.
He loves attention and loves to be near his family. He also loves belly rubs.
Titan is afraid of vacuum cleaners and baby gates. *I know, cute, eh?
He can be friendly and playful with children and he also might just avoid them.
Titan can be trusted to roam free when he is left alone.
He sleeps on the floor or in a dog bed but if he is lying down for too long in one spot, he might get up and limp.
Titan and his XXL brindle fur body, his rolls on his face and slobber coming from his mouth will capture your heart! Come on in to meet him but remember to let him get used to you first. It's on his terms.
Titan is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask!
