How this pet arrived:
Millie was brought in by a community member on September 21, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Millie, a gentle, snuggly soul who gets along wonderfully with both cats and dogs! She loves to play with her dog pals but stays calm around the cats, making her a fantastic fit for a multi-pet household. Millie is crate trained, calm on car rides, and knows her basics - sit, shake, stay, and come! She adores her walks and loves to sniff her way through the neighborhood, rarely barking as she takes it all in. Millie came to us with a unique history; our medical team discovered a BB pellet lodged in her spine, affecting her mobility. She's now recovering well and will thrive with gentle walks and exercise to keep her back legs strong. Millie has one more endearing quirk: she prefers to dine from her dog bed! If you're looking for a loyal, sweet, and quirky companion, Millie is ready to bring her calm joy into your life. Think she's the one for you? Please reach out to us at the email above!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
