My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Nemo,

As you can see, I am a bit unique. I have a front leg that did not develop properly, but it does not stop me from getting around. I have been checked out by a Vet and everything is fine. I have no pain, and I can use my little leg like my other normal sized limbs.
I have been around dogs and cats, and I would do best with a home that has had cats before, as I have never been taught boundaries and can be a bit bitey when playing. I need to learn to use toys to play with and not hands or body parts.
The staff have described me as confident, social and affectionate, as well as a little ball of energy.
FYI: I was found in a box with my siblings when we were being given away for free and someone saw that I was different and might need help, and so they took me to the Sea to Sky BC SPCA.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
