My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Porthos, the adventurous middle sibling of the adorable musketeer trio, along with his brothers Athos and Aramis! Porthos has thrived in his foster home, getting lots of love and playtime as he prepared for his forever family. This playful little guy is always ready to explore every nook and cranny, turning even the simplest moments into fun-filled escapades. His curiosity and silly antics are sure to keep you entertained and smiling. And when playtime winds down, Porthos transforms into a cuddly sweetheart, nestling up close for some quality snuggle time. Ready to bring a bundle of joy into your life? Porthos is excited to meet you!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
