My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Breezey was brought in by a community member on August 22, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Breezey, a beautiful blue-eyed girl! With her striking good looks and sharp mind, Breezey is a staff favorite around here. She's got that classic Husky energy, full of adventure and fun, and loves nothing more than playing with toys- although they need to be tough toys! Breezey has been known to swallow bits of tennis balls and stuffed plushies, so we recommend durable toy options like Kong and West Paw. (We can't have her inhaling her playthings- she's got to keep that wind in her sails!). While she's got tons of energy to love on you, she can also be a bit "mouthy" when she gets excited, so we recommend a home with older children who can respect her boundaries. Breezey has been known to chase a chicken or two (classic Husky, right?), so a home without small animals or cats would be ideal. Another thing- this girl is wicked smart. Breezey already knows sit, shake, down, and even pray (we're working on "stay" and "come," too). With the right training and consistency, she's sure to be a quick learner and a fantastic companion. While she might occasionally cough (don't worry, it's not kennel cough-more like asthma), Breezey is in great shape and ready to take on whatever comes her way. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving, and super clever pup to add a little "breeze" of joy to your home, Breezey might just be the one! She's got the personality, the beauty, and the brains to be your best bud for life.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
