My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mildred, a sweet and reserved adult cat who just needs a little time to feel comfortable and trust you. At first, she may be shy and take some time to warm up, but once she settles in and gets to know you, her loving and affectionate side shines through. Mildred is the type of cat who thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can take her time adjusting without feeling rushed.

Once she's comfortable, Mildred loves being petted and will seek out your attention, enjoying gentle strokes and quiet moments with you. She's looking for a family who can be patient and understanding as she adjusts to her new home, offering her the space and time she needs to blossom into the affectionate companion she truly is.

If you're an experienced cat owner who has the patience and heart to help Mildred feel safe and loved, she'll reward you with loyalty and sweet companionship. She's ready to find a forever home where she can truly relax and be herself.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
