My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Saginaw was found left alone in a carrier at Saginaw park. there was another empty carrier beside him. He needed an adjustment period at the rescue, but has shown himself to be a sweet little guy who loves pets and doesn't mind the other cats. He has injured his left front foot somehow and has a limp the vet feels will be lifelong. She believes the ankle area has been fractured and subsequently healed wrong. She recommends treating it with an inexpensive monthly injection.

More about this rescue

We are East Newton Animal Coalition. We started with a mission to serve the unwanted pets in eastern Newton County Missouri. We are part of a very rural area and many nearby towns are very small and have no animal services. We have opened our doors to many small rural pounds, animal controls, and law enforcement. Our group was able to raise funds to build a new pound in our town, Granby, Missouri. We currently care for the animals of this facility and facilitate their return, rescue, or adoption. We also care for a colony of about 80 "less adoptable" cats at a private residence. We began our relationship with the Joplin, Missouri Petsmart in November 2023 and our cat adoptions have gone from about 6 per year to being on track for around 300 per year. We hope to be able to introduce a dog adoption program at Petsmart soon.
