Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy Lee has the sweetest temperament and quickly warms up to love everyone she meets! She lives comfortably in a home with other cats and feline-savvy dogs. She is a cautious , but confident cat who we imagine will adapt to most home environments. Missy loves spending time with her foster family and snuggling in a warm blanket. Missy enjoys being carried around and readily purrs in your arms. At just under a year old, Missy still has bursts of playful kitten energy and can often be found darting after a favorite mouse toy.

Missy has soft white fur with a fluffy grey tail and distinctive round golden eyes. The kitten's birthday is approximated in February 2024. She has tested negative for Felv/FIV, up-to-date on age/weight appropriate vaccinations and treated for fleas/dewormed. All remaining initial vetting, including follow up vaccinations, neuter/spay and microchip, will be covered by the rescue.

1.
Submit Application

Please visit www.animaladvocates.net to view profiles of adoptable animals and complete an application.

2.
Interview

After an application is submitted, a volunteer will be in contact to conduct an interview and answer questions.

3.
Meet the Pet

All meet-and-greets with the animals are scheduled by appointment.

4.
Home Check

A home visit may be conducted to introduce an Animal Advocates's cat or dog to any current, resident pets as well as other family members.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Requested Adoption Donations: Young-$100 kitten/$225 puppy Adult-$80 cat/$180 dog Senior-$60 cat/$90 dog Discount for adopting a pair.

6.
Pay Fee

Requested Adoption Donations: $125 kitten / $300 puppy (1 yr or younger) $100 cat / $180 dog $60 senior cat / $90 senior dog (8-10 yr+)

Adoption Guidelines:
- Before scheduling a meet-and-greet with one of our adoptable cats or dogs, you must complete an application and interview with an adoption team member.
- You must be 21 years or older.
- All animals in your home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed / neutered.
- If you rent, we will need a copy of your lease stating the landlord permits pets along with the landlord’s contact information.
- We do not place animals as gifts for others.
- Adopted animals must be kept as indoor companions.
- We reserve the right to perform a home visit.

We aim to provide high quality care for the well-being of rescued cats and dogs until they are placed in forever homes. All animals are regularly vet checked, fully vaccinated, spayed / neutered and microchipped. They are routinely treated for fleas and worms as well as any medical issues.

Except for a limited number of cats fostered at our headquarters, our adoptable animals are cared for in loving volunteer foster homes. We get to know the pets’ personalities and needs very well, striving to make the best possible match for both animals and adopters.

Animal Advocates is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), all volunteer, animal welfare organization involved in the rescue, care and placement of companion animals. Serving the Pittsburgh area since 1984, Animal Advocates has adhered to a no-kill policy and engaged in community-based advocacy on behalf of animals since its inception.
