My name is Pongo!

Pongo is a sweet and athletic boy that loves to play! He also enjoys naps in the. He plays well with other kitties and adores his sister Joona. He is gaining lots of confidence in his foster home, but he is ready to have a forever family.  Interesting fact about Pongo - he's a manx kitty which means he was born without a tail.  Born May 2024.

Pongo was previously identified as having FIP and has completed the medication regimen. He has been closely monitored by our veterinary partner staff (blood tests, weight monitoring, caloric intake, etc) and has been cleared for adoption. We welcome further conversation about the prognosis and future of this cat.

FIP: Feline Infectious Peritonitis: Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus. Most strains of feline coronavirus are found in the gastrointestinal tract and do not cause significant disease. Recently, a very successful treatment regimen has been developed, involving a series of injections over several months' time. Many cats receiving this treatment have gone into remission and are living normal, healthy lives.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

• $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for kittens (6 months & under)   
• $125 for cats (older than 6 months)   
• $75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
