My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say "hello" to Sweet Tart! This two-year-old beauty is true to her name - a sweet, gentle spirit sure to steal your heart. With her velvety-soft, shiny black coat and playful, loving demeanour, Sweet Tart is the ray of sunshine that lights up a gloomy day. This lovely girl adores her head and belly scratches and, when you give her some gentle butt pats, she’ll reward you with an adorable “elevator bum” raise. Is it time for pets?!! Sweet Tart will respond to your touch by flopping over onto her back, belly-up and ready for rubs - it’s her sweet way of saying she trusts you. Sweet Tart’s youth and playful side really shine when it comes to string toys and wands. She’ll happily add indoor parkour to the mix, leaping from perch to perch and finding cozy, high spots to observe the world around her. A cat tree or two would be her idea of paradise, giving her the perfect view of her kingdom. Every morning, you will find Sweet Tart’s impeccable manners on display, as she waits patiently by your bed for breakfast, a small but endearing routine that still allows you to get those much-needed Zzz’s. And yes! She loves treats so please be sure to keep some Temptations in stock! Sweet Tart is a little shy initially and will need time and patience - a few weeks of gentle space to let her decompress and settle into her new home. But once you earn her trust, you’ll have a lifelong friend. While she’s not quite a lap cat yet, Sweet Tart will show her affection for you in her many other tender ways. Sweet Tart would thrive in a quiet, calm home where she can take things at her own pace. Sweet Tart would be content being the only cat in her home. She is indifferent to other cats and dogs but would require a very slow introduction to any other pets. She is okay with older children.

Sweet Tart came to us as a stray with her kittens. As such, we don’t know much about her history, but we do know she is ready to find her forever home!

This sweet, playful girl with a heart of pure gold is waiting for a forever home where she will be cherished and allowed to bloom on her own time. Are you ready to give this affectionate, gentle soul her Home at Last?

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
