Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** CAN GO HOME AFTER 11/26/2024 ***
Quick Facts:
Name: Little Marley
Estimated Birthday: 12/30/2019
Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Size: 12ish Pounds
House Trained: Work in Progress
Adoption Fee: $365
Hello, my name is Little Marley! I'm the cutest little girl you're ever going to meet. I'm 12 pounds of nothing but love. I used to be a breeder dog, but the person I lived with surrendered me and many of my housemates to the shelter. Due to my breed (Miniature Schnauzer) I will require regular grooming and brushing, I have a sensitivity to chicken so it will be important to keep my diet chicken free. I'm a very mellow little girl, outside of wondering the backyard I mostly prefer to snooze in a nice cozy spot. My favorite spot is snuggled up to any human who will let me snuggle with them. Not only do I love people but I also get along with pretty much anybody I meet. I've been in a foster home with dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 100, young and senior, male and female, and although I don't engage in playtime I do enjoy their company (Has not been tested around cats). Because of my past I can be extremely timid, even after months in a foster home I will sometimes still cower at a quick movement of an arm. I would prefer to get to know my surrounding at my own pace and once I'm comfortable I will instantly become your little shadow. Because I can be a bit timid at times my foster mom recommends only older children, that can understand when I'm scared or overwhelmed. I'm still working on my potty training but am crate trained and sleep through the night and while my foster parents are at work. I don't have any food or toy aggression, in fact I'm not sure what the word aggressive is. I do however LOVE food and have been known to steal food from other doggy friends. There's no doubt I'm a princess so I normally prefer to be carried around when possible.
***
Little Marley was used for breeding and most likely kept confined to her crate. Up until now potty training was not something she was taught so potty training will need consistent work and patience. Outside can be scary at times, any new experience or place, although she has made great progress in the foster home. She isn’t aggressive, but when uncomfortable she will try to run to find a place to hide or flatten herself on the ground.
