My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoe ~2 year old, spayed, UTD on vaccines, cat friendly, house trained, knows basic commands

There’s so much to love about Zoe, it’s hard to know where to begin! Let’s start with her affectionate, playful, and friendly nature. She’s the perfect movie night companion, and loves nothing more than curling up on the couch with her humans. Zoe gets along with calmer dogs, cats, and she is an all-around amazing pup who would be a great addition to any family. She’s young, so full of love and excitement - Zoe is ready for any adventure you can imagine. If you’re looking for a funny, cute, and loving companion, Zoe is the one for you! We can’t wait to see Zoe find her forever home

Foster homes needed!!

Foster homes are currently our greatest need! Since we do not have a shelter, we depend upon foster owners to provide temporary loving homes for all of our animals. Our ability to take animals into the program is limited by our number of approved foster homes. Please consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. We will provide all supplies and medical care; you provide the TLC.

More about this rescue

Who We Are

The Animal Welfare Foster Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue run by volunteer veterinary students in Blacksburg, Virginia. We coordinate and provide foster homes for animals until they are adopted into loving, permanent homes. During this time, they receive the appropriate healthcare (both routine preventative care and care for any medical conditions) and learn house manners so that they will become healthy, happy pets. The Animal Welfare Foster Program does not represent the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
