My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Age: 3 years old

*Current Weight: 53 lbs

*Rescued from: Louisiana (fostered in NJ)

*Adoption fee: $475

Meet Maggie, the Ultimate Bundle of Love, Fun, and Personality!

Maggie is a 3-year-old pitty mix with a heart as big as her smile! Rescued from a Louisiana shelter just before a hurricane, Maggie has shown incredible resilience and a zest for life. She’s now thriving in her New York foster home, where her quirky, lovable personality has her foster family singing her praises. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind companion who will keep you laughing and fill your home with love, Maggie might just be your perfect match.

From the moment Maggie walked into her foster home, she made it clear she’s a people dog. Every person she meets is greeted with joy and affection, and she’s incredibly tolerant—even with toddlers who are full of energy! Maggie has a soft spot for kids and loves to cuddle, sometimes sneaking into her foster sibling’s bed at night.

She’s a playful, spirited girl who enjoys the best of both worlds—an active day of walks and fun or lounging on the couch like a pro. Maggie loves toys (especially ones she can de-stuff!) and will happily entertain herself with a chew toy or join in a game of roughhousing with the kids. Be warned—she can be mischievous! Maggie dabbles in sneaking into food buckets or figuring out how to open gates, but it’s all part of her charm.

Her foster mom notes Maggie’s adorable quirks:

  • She does a happy dance every mealtime, an irresistible display of pure joy!

  • She’s house-trained but still working on signaling when she needs to go outside. (With a little patience and consistency, she’ll ace this in no time!)

  • She’s not a fan of nail trims or baths but is learning to tolerate them.

  • Maggie is a low-barker, with only a few woofs here and there.

While Maggie gets along with other dogs, she thrives best with ones who are ready to play—she loves having a furry partner in crime! Her foster family believes she’d be a great match for a family willing to continue teaching her basic commands and embracing her big personality.

Maggie has a knack for stealing hearts, and her foster mom describes her as a “queen” who’s as sweet as they come. If you’re ready for a loyal, loving, and hilarious companion who will fill your days with laughter and love, Maggie is waiting for you!

Apply to meet Maggie today—this joyful girl is ready to become your forever sidekick!
