Take the Pet Home
This helps Loved At Last Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
Hello! My name is Sidney and here’s some info about me:
Breed: Munsterlander/Border Collie mix
Age: 2 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 44 lbs / 20 kg
Height: 25.6 inches / 65 cm
Highlights: Intelligent, friendly, gets along well with all humans/dogs/cats, adaptable, eager to please and learn
I am so happy to have caught your attention! If you’re in search of a smart mid-sized dog who will be your forever companion; loyal in all situations from outdoor activities to cuddling up at home, then I'm your gal!
I'm being cared for in a temporary home overseas from Canada right now, and can't wait to settle in with the right person/people.
When I was just two months old a kind lady found me and forever changed the course of my life. I had been living on the streets along with some older, bigger dogs. Without my mother or litter mates, those dogs probably kept me safe from the dangers out there. My rescuer recognized I was suffering from ear infections and skin problems, and took me to a veterinarian for treatments. My ailments cleared up and I felt such relief after receiving medical care! She took me into her home where I have been living along with some of my doggy pals. She has been so generous to host temporarily. A permanent home is the next step for me... could that be with you??
You'll see I play well with other dogs https://youtube.com/watch?v=fnx5ZTFbUJQ, follow orders, love to go for car rides, and my rescuer states I am good with kids (though no video proof yet.) I am calm, kind, playful, and eager to learn all the tricks you are willing to teach me! I'm fine staying home alone, though I thrive when I'm around humans. I'm affectionate and lap up adoration, which I return in everlasting loyalty.
I like to be active and would be best suited with a person/people who can provide stimulating outdoor adventures. Hiking, swimming, camping, running in a yard all sound like so much fun! I have always lived with other dogs https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zJAHFt1SPhY and good with cats https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I-dPlyUpTSI and supposedly kids too.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through
Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo.
Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog.
LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
