My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, My name is Blanco and here is a little info about me:

Breed: Poodle/Terrier mix
Age: 2 years old
Gender: Female, spayed
Weight: 36 lbs
Height: 25 in
Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, people, very affectionate

I was found roaming the streets in a small villlage in Middle East. I was underweight, dirty and very hungry. I love human attention, thankfully I wasn't abused by people when I was homeless. I am a loving dog with a wagging tail and a happy personality. I'm great with other dogs and I'm living with many of them in Middle East. I'm a happy go lucky girl with moderate/high energy. I love to get a chance to go hiking and explore BC, I bet there are so many cool places to see. I am almost house-trained and my coat will need grooming but I almost don't shed at all.

I am a loving girl who loves to make new friends. I get along with all my shelter mates and of course humans. I am smart and eager to learn, most of all, I live to please my humans! I am a very fast learner and given the opportunity, I will learn all the tricks there is in no time.

Have you noticed my cute face? It melts everyone's heart! My rescue mom often tells me that I'm well-behaved and don't cause any trouble. I have not shown any signs of aggression towards people and other dogs. I really don't get a chance to run around at the shelter as I live in a small crowded yard with a small room but, being a young dog, I do require my daily activities. It would be so amazing to go for walks and hikes with my forever family. I am looking forward to finding my forever home where I can be happy, love, be loved and make endless memories.

Energy Level: Medium/High

I get along with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Unknown
Kids: Yes no video proof

Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.

Training: yes/ minimal, please be patient with me.
Leash skills: Yes, please be prepared to continue training.
House trained: Yes. I'm mostly house trained. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.

Health notes: I have been spayed, dewormed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccination.

My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience.

Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.

Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.

The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.

Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.

Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
