Riley was an AC PAW cat adopted in 2023. Sadly, his human mom’s dementia and unpredictable personality changes are so difficult for Riley that, though he has never been aggressive before, he has swiped and scratched at her, and now she fears him. It is best for both of them for Riley to find a new home.
Riley is a sweet, two-year-old boy who was subdued and anxious at first in his foster TC Paw foster home but soon blossomed into a wonderful friend. He’s even-tempered and gentle, and he lights up when he gets love and attention. He responds well to direction, whether it's "Come here," for snuggles or a firm "No!" to get off the counter. He’s flawless with the house rules, including litter box, claws, and understanding which objects are for kitties and which are not. Once he is comfortable, he wants to be where the people are and enjoys exploring the house with his foster parents. He’s usually a go-with-the-flow type who will relax when you’re relaxed and will play when you’re ready to play. Riley loves his mice, rolly balls, and wand toys. He is a smart dude and enjoys games and puzzles. Riley likes his foster’s three resident cats and would enjoy having an active, welcoming feline friend. He has not met a dog, but with a gradual introduction, we feel he could get along with one who is gentle with cats. New people and loud/sudden noises make him cautious, so an adult home or one with older children would be best. He has shown no sign of any aggression toward the people or animals in his foster home.
Riley’s foster family says, “Truly, we can’t say enough good things about this boy—we adore him. His forever family will be so lucky.” They welcome home visits to meet Riley.
