Hi! I'm Marshall, and I am an adorable 11lb Chihuahua mix. I just turned 13 years young and I may just be the perfect gent to welcome into your loving arms. I was brought in to the county pound as a stray with really rotten teeth, so my chances of finding a home were rather bleak. Thank goodness for Forever Loved, because they snatched me out of there and I went right in to a loving foster home. After a thorough check up and dental, I've gotten the “ok” to find the perfect home. I have to admit, my teeth were so bad that they had to be pulled, so now I am “toothless” and will need canned or soft food for the rest of my life. Don’t let that stop you from meeting me! I am a sweet, gentle guy who is house trained, I ride well in the car, I have great house manners, I meet new people easily, I’m affectionate, and I am good with other dogs. I’m trying to get my large doggy friend that I stay with to play with me, but he’s kind of not interested. I’d love another dog to hang with, but it’s not a necessity, because I really just need to be with you. So how about it? Just fill out that application, meet me, fall in love, and I can be yours!

More about this rescue
Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is the only senior-only animal rescue in Maricopa County, Arizona. Formed in 2012 as a non-profit 501[c][3] organization, the focus of FLPS is to save senior animals who are often overlooked by providing them the opportunity to thrive in a safe and caring environment. FLPS serves a public need by offering housing to a limited number of senior pets.
This safe haven, takes the burden of temporary care and housing of senior animals off of local shelters. Inevitably, local shelters resort to euthanizing these abandoned, senior animals at an alarming rate. According to a 2012 statistics report, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) euthanizes one animal every eight minutes it is open to the public. Euthanasia for senior residents is the primary option for most local shelters because they tend to focus their efforts on a high adoption model that includes younger “more adoptable” animals. FLPS works with local shelters and rescues to identify the senior animals in need and provide a streamlined process for interested men, women and families who wish to adopt.
