How would you describe the cat's general personality?
Helen is a sweet old lady who loves to putter around the house and be involved with whatever is going on. She is very dignified, but not so much so that she won't chase a toy mouse or zoom around the house once in awhile.
Does the cat enjoy being pet?
Yes
If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?
She likes to be pet on her head (especially scratches behind the ears), back, and chest
Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?
Not that I've particularly noticed
Does the cat come on your lap?
Yes! She loves to curl up and fall asleep on my lap, or place herself directly between me and whatever I'm trying to do that isn't pay attention to her. She will hop into my lap on the floor, on the couch, or even under the desk while I'm sitting on an office chair.
Does the cat like to be held?
She tolerates being picked up or held in place when she's on my lap, but it's not her favorite
Does the cat sleep in your bed?
She's not currently doing so, but her previous home reported that she likes to :)
Does the cat seek your attention?
Yes! If she's not sleeping, she wants me to be paying attention to her
Does the cat like to play?
A bit - she's fond of her scratcher and will chase a catnip mouse around if I toss it, but doesn't seek it out often
What are the cat's favorite games and toys?
(see above)
How vocal is the cat?
She's very chatty!
What kinds of sounds does the cat make?
She chirps and mrows at me if she wants attention, and makes a delightful little mrrp noise if you pet her while she's sleepy.
Does the cat scratch a scratcher?
Yes
Does the cat always use the litter box?
Yes
What food and frequency is the cat currently eating?
She eats 1 3oz can of Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers in the evening, supplemented with free-fed kibble that she munches on very occasionally.
Is the cat picky about food?
She doesn't seem especially picky
What is the cat's favorite treat?
She doesn't seem especially picky
Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?
No
Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?
No
Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?
No
Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?
No
To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?
Not sure how she reacts to new people in general, but it only took about 90 minutes from her initial arrival at her foster home to her first lap snuggle!
Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?
She has a lovely medium-length coat - not a complete fluffball, but definitely very plush fur!
In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?
If you want a companion to velcro themselves to your side and provide cozy companionship all day long, Helen is your lady! She's a snuggly sweetheart who just wants to relax and be adored.
What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?
It's very important for Helen to be the center of attention - she struggled in a previous home with a toddler, and I'd guess that she would thrive best in a home without any pets or younger kids.
