Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day from 12pm-7pm. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more.
Ms. Pearls (who her foster parent affectionately called Piggy) is a gem of a dog. She’s medium energy and very loving and sweet. A true pit, she wants to be touching and cuddling all the time. She doesn’t give kisses but wants kisses all the time, it’s very cute!
Ms. Pearls is very cautious with people and other dogs, so she’ll need adopters that will go slow with her and treat her with love, kindness and compassion. She really came out of her shell while in foster. She’s easy to walk and doesn’t react to dogs and squirrels.

More about this shelter
At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.
LOCAL FOCUS
With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our five campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
