Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there! My name is Bruno. I was brought here to the shelter as a stray, and I'll be honest, I was not a happy camper initially. I was terrified of all humans and wanted nothing to do with them. Staff could tell that I had a rough past before coming here. Unfortunately, they are unsure exactly what I have been through, but they found out quickly that I would need a lot of patience and time to overcome my fear. Since I came in though, I have shown some improvement, and even have started asking for attention from certain people here! I am not a fan of my kennel, but once I am out, I am more open to attention and love from people! I have shown no signs of dislike towards the other dogs here, so there would be potential for me to go home with another dog in the future as long as they are more mellow and gentle with me. I would prefer to not share my home with any smaller children, however given my anxiety around people at first. A quiet home with experience handling anxious dogs would be ideal for me! I could use some work on basic leash walking and obedience, but I am a smart breed and would be so loyal to my person given the chance! You can tell I want all the love - I just don't know how to show and initiate it sometimes. I would love to start the next chapter of my life and forget the events of the past for good! Think you could help me out? Ask to meet me at the shelter! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 70.2 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
Please call shelter for adoption pricing.
