My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zuko is a people-loving big boy who’s looking for an active family to call his own. He’s about 3 years old and weighs about 91 pounds.
After being found stray on the streets of New Orleans, Zuko had the good fortune of landing in a wonderful foster home where he has learned manners and the joy of being in a home. Zuko’s foster mom says “he loves people, loves to play with tennis balls, and he LOVES ice as a treat! He is very food motivated and smart, so he is quick to pick up tricks and commands. He has graduated training classes and has mastered Sit, Wait, Leave it (ignore), Walk forward, Turn, and Heel.” While well mannered and trainable Zuko is VERY excitable and needs someone with large breed knowledge and the ability to continue his training. Zuko is a big STRONG guy and would probably do best as an only pet in the home. He is kennel trained, neutered, up to date on all his vetting and preventives, and ready for his forever family to bring him home. If you have the time and the patience to continue Zuko’s training and would like to give him a forever home please fill out an application.

Zuko is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. If you are interested in learning more or meeting him, please complete an adoption survey using the link below (copy and paste link):
