Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Mikey has been mostly a very good boy this year—aside from his talent for scaling 6-foot chain-link fences! But don’t let that fool you—he’s firmly on Santa’s “Nice List.” This cheerful, loving, and playful pup is the perfect companion for someone ready to match his zest for life.
2024 was a big year for Mikey. After arriving at our shelter, we discovered he had heartworms—a tough diagnosis for any dog. Mikey handled it like a champ, though, staying calm and patient through three months of treatment (not easy for an energetic guy like him).
A quick reminder for pet owners: Heartworm prevention is as easy as giving your dog a monthly pill. Be sure to talk to your vet about keeping your furry friends safe and healthy!
Now fully recovered and heartworm-free, Mikey is ready to find his forever family. He’s currently the only dog in the shelter, and his one Christmas wish is to spend the holidays in a loving home.
Mikey is a 6-year-old, neutered Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s:
Dog selective: Prefers to choose his canine companions wisely. Not a fan of cats: Those whiskers are just too tempting to chase! Great with older kids: He thrives in active homes where he can keep up with the fun. Adventurous and well-behaved: Loves car rides, tolerates baths like a pro, and knows some basic commands. While Mikey already has a solid foundation, he’d benefit from continued training to polish his manners and unleash his full potential.
If you’re looking for a loyal and spirited companion, Mikey could be the perfect addition to your family. Give him the gift of a home this holiday season—and he’ll return the favor with endless love and tail wags.
Ready to make Mikey’s Christmas wish come true?
