My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Leila, the shuttershy house hippo! Leila has perfected the art of dodging the camera with impressive skill—she’ll turn her head ???????? ???? or hop out of frame like it’s her full-time job. But trust us, her sweet face and potato-like charm are worth the effort to capture!

At around 9 years young, Leila is a senior with plenty of pep in her step. She’s got the most adorable little bounce when she’s excited, as if her feet are springs and her heart is full of joy. Snuggles are her specialty, and she’ll happily claim your lap as her favorite spot for a cozy nap. She’s also got some impressive manners and can sit, shake, and lie down—she’s even bilingual, understanding commands in Spanish!

Leila prefers to be the queen of her castle, so she’d love a home where she’s the only pet. Her ideal family will be patient, experienced, and ready to give her the structure and love she deserves. Small kids can be a bit overwhelming for her, so she’s looking for a quieter, adult-centered household.
Thanks to her generous Adoption Angel, Leila’s adoption fee is covered! If you’re ready to open your home to this lovable, bouncy potato with a camera-dodging streak, come meet Leila. She might not pose for your photos, but she’ll absolutely steal your heart.
