My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! I’m Duke — a 1 year old hound mix pup looking for my forever home. At 67 lbs, I’m a tall and lanky boy — my human friends at the shelter say I’m going through my awkward teenage years… whatever that means! I love playing with my dog friends at the shelter just as much as I love going out on day trips with my human friends. My favorite activities are cuddling, playing with toys (especially when I get to use my long hound snoot!) and going on sniffaris (that’s just a walk where I get to do a lot of sniffing!). I would love to find a family that wants a running or hiking buddy too — my advocate has taken me for a few short jogs and says I was “born to run”… maybe it’s these long legs, hehe.

I take treats gently, love to give kisses, walk well on a leash for being a bigger boy and have gotten along well with dogs at the shelter with similar play styles. One of my human friends is working on some commands with me too, but like any young pup, I could benefit from some basic obedience training once I find my forever home. Could that be with you?

Come meet me on Overpass Road if you’re looking for a playful pup with a fun personality who is just the right balance of active and cuddly!
