Hiya! I’m Stella, a 2.5 year-old suspected border collie/pit bull mix (DNA pending!) who’s been hanging out at the Goleta shelter waiting for my forever home! My human friends at the shelter call me Stellita because I’m a small girl at just 50 lbs — and you know what they say… the best things always come in small packages! I’m the perfect blend of active and snuggly, and love going out for walks and jogs just as much as I love curling up in my human’s lap for a good nap! I’m an expert at playing catch and fetch, and am working on learning more basic commands (so far I know my name, “come” and “sit”, and am working on “wait”!). I’d love to find a forever home where I can be the only pet and the apple of my forever family’s eye. Could that be with you? The shelter is a little stressful for me so I’m hoping to find my family soon… I lived with kids in the past and wouldn’t mind having a human brother or sister to cozy up with. Please review our adoptable animals before making an appointment to meet one of our dogs. The shelters do their best to have a posting of photos of dogs in foster and dogs temporarily away from the shelter.

You may visit our shelter at 5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, CA Monday - Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m with adoption hours from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our shelters are closed for lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our volunteer adoption counselors or staff will be happy to show you any available dog for your consideration.

We also welcome out of town or out of state adoptions.

A dog adoption from the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter is $110 and includes a spay/neuter certificate, current vaccinations, rabies, health records, transition food, loaner items, goody bag, and a coupon for 4 free dog behavior training sessions which is funded by donations to K-9 PALS for the promotion of life-long homes for dogs. Dog license fees for your city or county are additional.
