My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

Ford appreciates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to an adult-only home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.

My foster writes: Ford is a beautiful, friendly boy who's just over a year old but still has the charm of a kitten. He warms up quickly, greeting new friends with a head bunt within minutes. Ford is the ideal mix of playful and independent: he's curious, fun, and self-sufficient, making him incredibly easy to be around.
This sweet guy would fit perfectly into any home, especially if it's your first time adopting a cat. He's content to curl up and nap while you watch TV, sometimes twitching adorably in his sleep as he dreams. He even entertains himself with toys when you're busy. Ford is reliably litter-trained, not picky about food, and happiest when he's near his people.
Ford is ready to bring love and companionship to his forever home-could that be with you?

A volunteer writes: Ford was found in a carrier on the sidewalk, but thankfully things are turning in his direction. Like any good optimist, Ford says a bumpy start is nothing compared to what's coming and we couldn't agree more. So, what's coming for Ford? A forever family! He's learned all about families since coming to the Care Center and told me everything as he rolled around at the front of his condo. He's heard families give pets and treats, there will be windows to look out of and couches to nap on. As he dreamily rhapsodized about his forever home, I fell in love with his hope as much as his insistence on neck scritches. Though Ford has an enviable collection of toys, he eschewed each one in favor of nuzzling and cuddling. Occasionally getting up to waltz around his condo, Ford fell back into my arms at every opportunity. In true glass half full fashion, we know he will be so fantastic in his forever home.
