My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1-1/2 years

Meet Rigsby, a lovable, big-hearted dog who’s looking for a forever home where he can share all the snuggles and affection he has to offer. This gentle giant is a true cuddle bug—he loves nothing more than curling up next to his favorite people for some quality bonding time. With his soft fur and warm, soulful eyes, Rigsby has a way of making you feel instantly loved. He’s friendly, easygoing, and enjoys a good walk or play session, but his real passion is being with you, whether it’s lounging on the couch or resting his head on your lap. Rigsby is ready to shower his new family with endless love and loyalty. If you’re looking for a big, affectionate companion who will be your shadow and your best friend, Rigsby is the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
