Meet Naomi, a young, friendly, and playful soul who`s bound to fill your life with joy. She`s a bit shy, but her curiosity is endless, always eager to explore new toys and games. Her favorite activities are swimming, bathing, running, playing with toys, car rides, and fetch. Her cuddly, affectionate nature makes her the perfect companion for cozy evenings while she lounges on your lap and you pet her. Naomi`s excitability is infectious, and her obedience is commendable. She`s house trained and gets along well with other dogs and children, making her an ideal addition to any family. Around them she is easygoing, friendly, playful, jumpy, occasionally rough but sometimes gentle. She needs practice with leash walking as she investigates every rustling leaf and every bird`s chirp. Being outside is an adventure waiting to unfold. Like many youngsters she loves to chew, jump, and run away - all in good fun. She does understand the no command and usually won`t run away while off leash. This 33-pound girl was given up because there were too many dogs in the home. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.
CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
