Daphne is a delicate, shy beauty who takes her time warming up to new people. She’s a sensitive girl who finds solace in her comfort zone, so she’s looking for a patient and experienced adopter who understands her need to go at her own pace.

Building trust with Daphne is a journey, but it’s one worth taking. She’ll need a committed adopter who’s willing to visit her several times at the shelter, allowing her to get to know you slowly. Once Daphne feels secure, her true colors shine. She greets her trusted people with a wagging tail, joyful energy, and plenty of affectionate kisses. Daphne has been making doggy friends at the shelter and enjoys playtime with canine companions who are calm and respectful of her boundaries. A home with a mellow doggy sibling could be a great match for her, though she would also thrive as the only dog in a quiet, understanding household.

HSNMB does not hold animals and all adoptions are done on a first-come, first-served basis in person at the shelter. Once the adoption is completed and the fee is paid, you must take the animal with you at that time.

Please be sure to bring a photo ID and cash or a credit card for the adoption fee. The primary caregiver is required to be present to go through the adoption process. Any children 5 and under and, in some cases, any existing dogs living in the home will be required to be present and meet the animal prior to adopting. Meet and greets are not required for all animals, but may be deemed necessary by HSNMB staff for specific pets.

Adoption Fees:
Cats (over 6 months of age): $60
Kittens (under 6 months of age): $100
Dogs (over 6 months of age): $110
Puppies (under 6 months of age): $140
Seniors ages 60 and up qualify for discounted adoptions fees.
