My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baxter, a gentle, handsome Aussie mix with a heart full of potential. While the bustling shelter environment and being on a leash make him nervous, Baxter’s true nature shines through in the right moments. With patience and kindness, he’ll come up to his kennel door to ask for a scratch or a little love. Outside, the big world can be overwhelming, but don’t let that fool you—there’s a playful, fun-loving spirit waiting to come out.Recently, Baxter had a breakthrough during a play session with canine friends, and his bright, energetic side was on full display. Watching him bound around with joy, it’s clear that with the right support, Baxter could thrive. This fluffy guy is looking for a calm, understanding home that will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe and confident.Baxter will do best with a patient family who can help him rediscover the simple pleasures of life at his own pace. He’s ready to learn that the world isn’t as scary as it seems and, in return, will offer his gentle heart to the ones who show him love and trust. If you’re ready for a rewarding journey with a sensitive soul who just needs a chance, Baxter is waiting to meet you. Could you be the home he’s been dreaming of?

Baxter has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:
