My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Turkey
I was busy napping when the interviewer lady (IL) sat beside my bed. I was curled up in a tight little ball, and when she touched me, I opened my eyes and stretched my legs out straight. I am currently a resident of Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) and am slowly getting used to being well cared for. I was brought to the HSHC on October 17 as a stray cat with a bite abscess, a flea allergy, and a flea infestation. Being a stray makes you subject to all kinds of illnesses and injuries. My right front leg was swollen and infected. Luckily, the medical staff were on top of my injury, and I have healed very well. I am 2-years-old, spayed, and using the litterbox successfully. I am so grateful for being brought here and for the care I`ve received. Because I have never been someone`s pet, I am naturally shy, but I am happy to be petted and comforted. I`m still getting used to being at the SKCC, so I might spend time hiding until I build my confidence. The IL told me I`m no bigger than a minute because I weigh about 6 pounds! She also told me I have an adorable face. I gather these are good qualities to have when you are in the market for a forever family. I invite you to come to SKCC and see if we click! 11-19-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
