Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
***Sammie is currently in a loving foster home. If you are interested in meeting Sammie please email NEASfoster@mspca.org***
Meet Sammie! She`s happy, bouncy, and super wiggly. Sammie loves to play and is full of energy so she`d make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. She is also a smart cookie (...and appreciates all the cookies) who LOVES to learn and is doing really well with training at the shelter, so she`s looking for a family that is excited to continue her training. And even better - she`s spent time in a home where she worked on housebreaking and crate training! Sammie can jump and use her mouth when she`s excited or playing, so kids in the home should be able to participate in training and unphased by a bouncy pup and their goofy antics. Sammie would be most happy as your one and only canine companion - and could make dog friends after she has settled into her new home.
If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter. We have open adoption hours 11:30am-5pm daily - no appointment or application needed.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat areas will remain open to walk through.

Additional adoption info
Come in during open hours 11:30am-5pm if you see an animal you are interested in adopting!
Our Northeast Animal Shelter(NEAS) location also allows you to submit an inquiry online prior to visiting the shelter. Submitting an inquiry is not a hold, reservation, or guarantee on an animal adoption, it just gives NEAS a bit more information on you and allows staff to email you additional information on our adoption process.
We ask that you be in a position to adopt the day you visit with an animal. Our goal with adoption is to find a great match and have the animal stay in care for the least amount of time possible.
See www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ for more information on adopting from the MSPCA-Angell Northeast Animal Shelter.

More about this shelter
Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is now part of the MSPCA-Angell, giving us a better opportunity to serve our community, provide additional life-saving programs and services, and protect more animals from cruelty and neglect.
Our adoption program is designed to be welcoming, nonjudgmental, and free of lengthy applications. We strive to engage all prospective adopters in a conversation aimed at matching an adopter’s lifestyle, interests and home environment with an animal’s personality, medical and behavioral needs. Adopting an animal is an extraordinary opportunity to choose your newest family member. At the MSPCA it is a great privilege for our staff and volunteers to guide that journey for adopters and animals.
