My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Lila! I'm young and full of life. I'm as sweet as sugar and always ready to make friends. I'm brave, not afraid to explore new places or meet new people. I'm smart too, quickly figuring out puzzles and games. Playful is my middle name, I love a good game of chase or hide and seek. After a good play session, I'm the cuddliest cat you'll ever meet. I'll curl up in your lap and purr until we both fall asleep. I'm also a loyal friend, always there to keep you company. I love to roam free, exploring every nook and cranny. But what I want most is a home to call my own. Adopt me, and I promise to fill your life with joy, laughter, and endless cuddles.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
